As I grew and my understanding of the Bible matured I began to see that the God of the Universe was also the same God who cared enough to come in the flesh in order to save the whole world, including me.The Good News according to John, tells us in the tenth chapter, that Jesus called himself "the Good Shepherd" and that Good Shepherd knows his sheep by name!
This information, for some, is to hard to believe for the same reason I felt so insignificant as a child underneath the stars. For too many people God or an Intelligent Mover is possible, but not an involved Creator who is intimately interested in individuals.
This is the Good News. The God of the Universe, the Creator of the world, is interested in each and every one of us. He took on flesh and blood to show us his love. He died on the cross to remove the barrier that had cut us off from knowing God more fully. He rose from the dead so that we could live lives of abundance and fulfillment. He sent his Spirit to empower us to work alongside God in the building of his kingdom.
